Where are you from?
Where did you go to college and what did you major in?
I attended Northwest Missouri State University and received a B.S. in Speech Communications-Organizational Communications
What’s the best thing about working for Westminster?
The best thing about working for Westminster is that I feel like part of the WestMO family even though I never attended class here. That is something a lot of students are looking for, and I can honestly tell them that they will be welcome here when they move in the Fall.
Why did you choose to be an Enrollment Counselor?
I had a good relationship with my counselor for my 4 years of college and I wanted to be that same mentor for others. Plus, I love to talk to all sorts of people and traveling around the Midwest.
What’s your favorite memory of being a counselor so far?
My favorite memory is watching my first class of students walk across the columns. Knowing that I helped them accomplish their dream of going to college.
List a couple of your hobbies.
I like watching movies and spending time with my family. My favorite hobby is playing golf in Fulton. Tanglewood is a beautiful course and it’s only 3 miles from work!
What’s one thing about your personality most people wouldn’t assume about you?
I am a quiet person in the mornings. Although I am very cheerful and outgoing the majority of the time, it takes me about 2 cups of coffee in the morning to get there.
What’s your favorite piece of advice to share with students who are researching colleges?
There are so many opportunities out there for you besides the big schools you have heard of. Most people have never heard of Fulton, MO until they research it on the internet. My best advice is to do research on a variety of higher education options. Many of the students here did that; they came, they saw, they loved it!
