Seven Blue Jays Earn Spots On SLIAC All-Academic Teams
The St. Louis Intercollegiate Athletic Conference honors continue to come in for Westminster College basketball players with seven Blue Jays being named to their respective SLIAC All-Academic Team. The recipients are members of the 2007-08 men's or women's basketball squads. Other selection criteria include: (1) Minimum 3.5 cumulative grade point average, (2) At least sophomore academic standing and (3) Have at least one full year at current institution (first year transfers and true freshmen are not eligible).

Four Basketball Players Honored By The SLIAC Coaches
Four 2007-08 Westminster College basketball players have been honored by the St. Louis Intercollegiate Athletic Conference coaches.
Three members of the 17-8 Blue Jay men's team, which recorded the highest winning percentage since the 1985-86 season, were honored. Andrew Buxton, a 6-3 senior guard from Wildwood, Missouri (Lafayette HS), was named to the all-conference first team. Buxton was a two-time conference player of the week and a D3 Hoops Team of the Week recipient, who led Westminster with a 15.9 points and 5.1 rebounds a game averages. Buxton concluded his career 12th on the school's scoring chart with 1,093 points. Jason Warncke, a 6-1 junior guard from St. Peters, Missouri (Francis Howell Central), earned honorable mention all-conference recognition. Warncke averaged 10.8 points a game and tied for the team lead with 39 3-pointers while leading the team with 51 steals. Landon Kurz, a 6-4 senior guard from Wildwood, Missouri (Lafayette HS), earned a spot on the conference's all-tournament team. Kurz averaged 6.9 points and a team-high 2.4 assists a game during the season, and helped the Blue Jay men qualify for their second conference tournament in three years. Kurz tied Warncke with 39 3-pointers made.
Ashley Stanfill, a 5-11 junior forward from Columbia, Missouri (Rock Bridge HS), was an honorable mention all-conference recipient for the 11-14 Blue Jay women. Stanfill was a conference player of the week and a D3 Hoops Team of the Week member. She led Westminster with 12 points and 6.4 rebounds a game, and is in the school's career top-ten in scoring (8th, 691 points) and rebounding (5th, 463 rebounds).
