How to Choose a College

Selecting the college to attend that is the right fit is one of the most important decisions a student and parent can make … and sometimes one of the most agonizing and confusing.  Barraged by pamphlets touting every college or university as the best since sliced bread, how do the parent and student sift through the material to make an informed decision?  New York Times blogger Frank Bruni has posted his thoughts on how to make that decision in what I believe to be one of the most insightful pieces I have read in a long time, “How to Choose a College.”

Just as we believe so strongly at Westminster, his considerations reach far beyond rankings or familiarity with a school and tell students and parents to focus on the approaches and outcomes colleges can demonstrate concerning the educational experience.  Much of what he describes epitomizes the special Westminster experience we have to offer.  Therefore, I felt this piece was important enough to share on our website.  I hope you find it helpful.
