Objectives of the Academic Assessment Program
The assessment program documents proficiency in skills and competencies identified in the College's statement of educational goals; completion of the requirements of New Foundations; and, attainment of the knowledge, skills, and abilities associated with a major program of study. The findings of the assessment program will be used to:
- assist faculty and other College decision makers in identifying the degree to which academic programs of study are meeting goals and, on this basis, to guide future program development;
- assist leadership of co-curricular programs to determine the degree to which co-curricular programs are meeting goals and, on this basis, to guide future program development;
- and, enable staff of academic affairs, institutional advancement, and enrollment services to accurately and effectively represent the educational programs of the College to key constituencies.
