ScreenSite
A tool for the study of film and television which links to selected sites in education, research, production, and "miscellaneous." Its primary purpose is to facilitate the study of film/TV. ScreenSite stresses the teaching and research of film and television and is designed for educators and students to nurture thoughtful, critical approaches to media. It is divided into four principal areas: Education, Research, Film/TV Production, and Miscellanea.

FilmSound.org
A site dedicated to rhe art and analyses of film sound design. Extensive glossary and terminology sections. Full text articles about the field in its application. Sound design of various films used as explanations as well as extensive histories and bibliographies. A well documented site for its application in the field of film sound design.

Costume Page
For the benefit of those who study and/or make costumes: costumers, students, historical re-enactors, science fiction fans, professionals, amateurs, dancers, theatrical costumers, trick-or-treaters, writers, researchers, and all those interested in fashion, textile art, and costume history. There are well over 2,000 unique links listed on these pages. Some of them cover more than one area of interest. The topic areas include: Reference, Museums, History, Ethnic, Theatrical, Organizations, Events, Schools, Instructions, Halloween, Other Lists, Materials, Accessories, Costumes (ready-made). Those needing costume information will find this site useful.

Performing Arts in America
Presents a searchable database of 16,000 objects representing archival materials from one of the strongest periods in the Performing Arts Library collections. The overall richness of these collections is demonstrated by the variety of complementary original resources that, studied together, can inform and further an understanding of one artist, an entire production, or a whole era. Included are clippings from a broad range of newspapers; composite photographs, called "keysheets" that contain large numbers of reduced-size promotional shots; music sheet samples featuring popular music, show-tunes, jazz and dance music; photographs of theater, dance, and popular performance; and publicity posters and lobby cards, the latter produced in the early years of the film industry and used in theater lobbies to promote films.

Ethnomusicology, Folkmusic, and World Music
An extensive website from the University of Washington Music Library. It giving access to various organizations, institutions, archives, and research centers. A listing of bibliographies, periodicals and online publications is just one of its many links. Full-text articles and music related to recordings of early times are accessible by collection type as categorized by geographic locations.

Operabase
Search the details of over 38,000 opera performances since autumn 2001 by any combination of opera title, composer, date, location. Alternatively, check the annotated list of forthcoming festivals, rarities and premieres... or choose your own highlights from the list of everything in the next month. Search the Operabase schedules for a specified artist, and follow links to production details, reviews, bios, discographies.

OperaGlass
Here you can get detailed information, including: Libretti, Source Texts, Performance Histories, Synopses, Discographies and pictures, background information, and more on any of a small but rapidly growing number of operas, plus pointers to many other opera servers.

The Red Hot Jazz Archive
Subtitled "A History of Jazz Before 1930." Provides streaming audio for more than 1,000 significant recordings. Biographical essays given are thumbnail sketches. Rare items, oddities, and film are also represented.

Worldwide Internet Music Resources
Combines a mix of popular and scholarly materials. It is a very comprehensive Web directory to musicians and musical organizations coming from the Indiana University Music Library. It is organized by genres of performers, composers, compositions, and music related organizations. There are links to publishers, copyright, revies, and music software. The database is searchable.

Theatre

American Variety Stage
Collection illustrates the forms of popular entertainment, especially vaudeville, which thrived from 1870-1920. Included are 334 English- and Yiddish-language playscripts, 146 theater playbills and programs, 61 motion pictures, 10 sound recordings and 143 photographs and 29 memorabilia items documenting the life and career of Harry Houdini.
