Circulation
Circulation of Library Materials
Most books and other circulating items in the Reeves Library Collection are loaned to students for a period of one month and to faculty for the current semester. Faculty may borrow videos on a two-week loan period; students view videos in the library or for overnight checkout.
Library holdings may be searched in the Arthur catalog. Arthur allows you to search our holdings as well as those at William Woods, Lincoln, Columbia, and Stephens, individually or all together. You may also search other Mobius libraries including the University of Missouri Columbia.
For questions about Circulation activities contact Cindy Schoolcraft at x5247.
Putting Materials on Reserve
Materials to support classroom instruction may be made available on E-Reserves under the Library Reserve Repository in the ANGEL course management software program or on Library Reserves for use in the library. A lead time of 24-working hours is needed to process items for Library Reserves and ANGEL E-Reserves. Items needed over the weekend should be brought to the library by noon on Thursday.
Library Reserves
Reeves library materials may be put on reserve, Examples:
books videos
bound periodical volumes CDs
other bound materials DVDs
For questions about Library Reserves, contact Cyndie Faircloth (ext 5358) or Linda Offineer (ext 5373.)
Angel E-Reserves
Items to be placed electronically in ANGEL E-Reserves, Examples:
unbound, print material, such as
journal articles
newspaper clippings
documents (quizzes, answer keys, etc.)
The library staff can scan and post materials for you or you can choose to process these kinds of items on your own.
For questions ANGEL E-Reserves, contact Cyndie or Linda.
Items owned by or borrowed from other libraries cannot be processed for Reserves. Contact Angela Gerling, at x5245 if additional purchases are needed for your course.
How to
Bring your reserve materials to the Circulation Desk and fill out the "Library Reserve" form or the ANGEL E-Reserves form and include your name, course identification, preferred checkout time (e.g. 2 hrs, 4 hrs, overnight, 3-day, etc.) Library Reserve items are kept behind the Circulation Desk and are usually checked out for two hours. Library Reserve materials are generally understood to be for "In Library Use Only," but items posted on ANGEL E-Reserves are available 24/7.
Copyright and Reserves
Copyright guidelines can be reviewed at:
http://www.copyrightoncampus.com
and
Copyright Advisory Network
A general guide is that the amount of material copied or scanned should be reasonable in relation to the total amount of the original source. For example, one article from a specific issue of a journal, or a chapter from a book is within the guidelines.
Reeves Library materials and personal copies may be placed on Reserve. The library
cannot
place on Reserve any books or videos obtained via interlibrary loan or otherwise borrowed from other libraries.
If material is going to be used repeatedly semester after semester copyright permission
must
be requested.
Permission may be requested through the Copyright Clearance Center at:
