How to Apply for Westminster Scholarship Programs
Upon admission to the college, students are automatically considered for Westminster College scholarships. See the Scholarship and Other Financial Aid Programs section for descriptions of these awards.
How to Apply for Need-Based Assistance
Students admitted to the College should complete the Free Application for Federal Student Aid (FAFSA) by our priority deadline February 15, 2013. If you want Westminster to receive your results electronically, please list Westminster College's Title IV Code “002523".
You may contact our office for assistance in completing the FAFSA.
Access FAFSA on the web now!
You will receive a Student Aid Report (SAR) in the mail or by e-mail a few weeks after submitting your FAFSA. Please verify the information on your SAR, make any necessary corrections. Each college you list on the FAFSA will receive a copy of your SAR directly from the Federal Processing Center. This information allows us to determine your financial need to attend Westminster. Once you have been accepted to Westminster, a financial aid package will be developed for you.
You will receive your financial aid package in the mail starting the middle of March. Your package may consist of scholarships, grants, loans, and/or work-study. Your Enrollment Services Representative will call you to discuss the package with you and answer any questions that you or your family may have.
To receive an early estimate of financial aid eligibility from the Department of Education, students may complete the FAFSA4Caster at www.fafsa4caster.ed.gov. Once you complete FAFSA4Caster, you will receive estimated Federal financial awards, and you will be able to transfer your answers to the FAFSA completing approximately 50% of the FAFSA questions. Students who complete the FAFSA4Caster will still need to complete the FAFSA after January 1, 2013.
Apply Early
File your 2012 taxes as early as possible, as this information will be required to complete the FAFSA. If you know that you will not be able to do so, we encourage completion of the FAFSA based on an estimate of your 2012 tax information. Submitting the form by February 15, 2013 will ensure that you will be considered for all forms of financial aid at Westminster.
Special Circumstances
If you have special circumstances that might affect your eligibility for financial aid, complete the FAFSA then contact the Westminster College Financial Aid Office. Circumstances such as tuition expenses at an elementary or secondary school, unusual medical or dental expenses not covered by insurance and extreme changes in income (i.e. unemployment or underemployment) or assets will be considered.
