Westminster College will close its Mesa, AZ campus, effective after the spring 2014 semester.
Demand did not meet the student numbers necessary to sustain Mesa operations as quickly as we had anticipated, and it is not financially prudent for our College to proceed. View the statement from the Board of Trustees.
We are working with the Higher Learning Commission to develop a plan to assist the students at our Mesa campus, so they may continue their education. The College thanks those students for joining the Westminster family when our Mesa campus opened last August and for supporting our vision for higher education. We also thank our Mesa faculty and staff for building a fantastic experience for our Mesa students over the past year.
Westminster College also wishes to thank the City of Mesa for their support and partnership in our Mesa venture. We wish them the best of luck as they continue to pursue their vision for the City.
Thank you to the members of our Mesa Campus Advisory Board and other members of the Phoenix-Mesa community who supported our Arizona campus and our vision for higher education in the Southwest.
Part of Westminster’s Strategic Plan 2020 to develop and implement new educational ventures to serve new constituencies, the Mesa campus was the first-ever campus expansion for the College, established in 1851. Westminster is currently conducting an in-depth market research study, exploring additional options for growth.
