No exciting post-trip life updates (no hubby, kids, etc.) so here’s a quote: Thanks to my job, I’ve loved reconnecting with people from all over the country who I met during my road trip as they come back for Alumni Weekend and other events. The Blue Jay Nation is as strong as ever!

News snippet about your post-trip life: Things have been going great since the road trip in summer 2009. I started medical school at Mizzou August 2009 and am currently finishing up my last year with plans to graduate this May. Medical school has been a long road, but I really do enjoy it and couldn’t see myself doing anything else. My research in aggressive prostate cancer was recently published in the June 2012 edition of the American Journal of Surgical Pathology. I am listed as co-author with three other physicians, two from Washington University School of Medicine in Saint Louis, MO and one from Duke University Medical Center in Durham, NC. I will also be presenting research on pediatric sacral neuromodulation therapy this October at the South Central Section of the AUA in Colorado Springs, CO. My next project will be on the DaVinci robotic surgical system, which is currently being prepared for publication in 2013. Thankfully, I passed Step I medical boards last year, and plan to take Step 2 this fall. This year should be an exciting one, as I am currently applying for a residency position in Urologic Surgery. In my free time I play on the Mizzou club basketball team and go to as many Mizzou sporting events as I can. I certainly miss my time at Westminster, but am excited to start this new chapter of my life as a physician.

Post-Grad: UMKC School of Dentistry - 3rd year dental student. Following graduation, I plan to enter a residency program and afterwards hopefully practice dentistry overseas for a bit. Anticipated Graduation Date: May 2014
Other Info: When not at school working with patients or studying at night, I try to stay busy by playing in rec hockey and softball leagues. I have a one year old dog name Jacques to keep me company while I study for boards (which I take in a couple weeks, wish me luck). Staying involved in the Westminster community is important to me, I attend all the local Westminster events in KC and will be on campus again in the fall to help with Men's Rush. I hope you all are enjoying the summer and look forward to running into everyone at Alumni Weekend!

Current Job Title: Employee Activities Coordinator, Barnes-Jewish Hospital
News snippet: Last time I saw you, I was living out of van. Well, I am moving up in the world and can officially say I live with my parents. Though I have a permanent home, I still haven’t stopped moving. I am on the run every day ensuring that Barnes-Jewish has top notch events. When I am not taking care of my 10,000 employees, I am basking in the company of great friends, family, sports and St. Louis classics such as toasted ravs. Though my nomad days are behind me and while I clearly love my city, I still enjoy venturing out to go explore the world. If you ever get a chance to explore St. Louis, email me at firstname.lastname@example.org
, and I will show you a little of my home town.
