Alumni Association - Westminster College - Fulton, Missouri 

The Alumni Association challenges alumni to be engaged and support Westminster! 

There are over 12,000 living alumni of Westminster College in all 50 states and 34 countries. From Seoul to Dallas, New York to Hollywood, Westminster alumni are everywhere! No matter how young or old, no matter where they reside, each Westminster man and woman is automatically a member of the Alumni Association.

One of the best ways to support the college is by staying up-to-date and informed. Here are a few simple things you can do throughout the year:

  • Keep your contact information current and update the Alumni Office of news
  • Visit the Westminster website often and stay up to date on the college
  • Help us tell our story – engage your Westminster friends in the college and promote Westminster College in the cocktail circuit and work circles
  • Stay in touch with your Westminster friends and update the Alumni Office when you are aware of new information, such as address changes, marriages, new jobs, births, etc.
  • Add Westminster College to your bio/press releases/etc.
  • Promote Westminster by wearing and/or displaying Westminster items
  • Make a gift to Westminster College each year
            - Check with your employer about matching gift opportunities to make your gifts go farther!
  • Help the college shape and move the WC message on social media sites:
            - Learn about/sign up for social media sites – Facebook, Twitter, Linked In
            - Become a Facebook fan of Westminster College MO
            - Recruit others to become a Facebook fan of Westminster College MO
            - Post information, photos and comments on the Westminster College MO Facebook page 
            - Tweet about Westminster and retweet Westminster news

Regional Alumni Group 
  • Serve as an area rep on the Alumni Council
  • Help organize and/or sponsor a college coordinated alumni event
  • Organize/host an area alumni event/dinner party/etc. to engage alums and friends
  • Recruit, encourage and support area/affinity representatives
  • Bring new people to an area alumni event
  • Attend and invite others to area athletic events 
  • Organize a Westminster group to participate in a local service project, team event, etc. and wear Westminster t-shirts!

Alumni Weekend

  • Organize a class or affinity reunion for Alumni Weekend
  • Sponsor or find sponsors for the Alumni Weekend t-shirt ($500)
  • Provide or recruit others to give raffle items for the Alumni Weekend raffle
  • Buy and/or sell raffle tickets to the Alumni Weekend raffle
  • Recruit other alumni to come back for Alumni Weekend 

Fellow Alumni

  • Bring an alum to campus who has not been back for awhile
  • Work with Development to engage alums and non-alums in fundraising events, such as a Museum dinner party
  • Recruit new President's Club members
  • Send Development a connection to a foundation or corporate gift
  • Bring guests to the National Churchill Museum
  • Join the Friends of the National Churchill Museum
  • Provide museum passes to friends to encourage them to visit the museum 

Leadership & Recognition

  • Express your interest in serving on the Alumni Council
  • Nominate potential Alumni Council and Board members
  • Nominate potential alumni award winners
Student Recruitment & Regional Media

  • Send prospective student names to enrollment
  • Encourage high school students to look at and visit Westminster College
  • Talk to high school parents about Westminster College
  • Provide ads in high school publications in your area
  • Open doors/provide contacts to Marketing Office for media coverage in your local area

Current Students

  • Support an athletic team or student group while in your area by providing meals, lodging, tours, etc. as appropriate
  • Speak to a class
  • Meet with a campus group
  • Provide and/or host internship opportunities for students
  • Get involved in student groups – attend events, be an advisor, support groups
  • Arrange a video conference with a class of group of students
  • Attend a campus event and engage with students
  • Provide career advice to students
  • Provide job openings to Career Development

Campus Events

  • Serve as a speaker at a major campus event, such as the Undergraduate Scholars Forum or the Symposium
  • Serve as a judge for the Undergraduates Scholars Forum – Posters, Presentations and Writing
  • Attend the Undergraduate Scholars Forum
  • Attend the Symposium
  • Attend other campus lectures
  • Suggest speakers for the Symposium
