Mikaela is the daughter of Tom and Janet Ruga and has a brother, Ben (23).
She is majoring in biology and would like to work in agriculture or conservation after graduation.

Academic Accomplishments

Mikaela was on the Academic Honor Roll and named to the Academic All-Conference all four years. She was the National Honor Society Treasurer her senior year.

Athletic Accomplishments

Mikaela tied for the school's overall highest career free-throw percentage (75%). She helped lead her team to 2nd place at state her junior year (2011), to the State Quarterfinals her sophomore year (2010) and to become District Champions from 2009-2012. Her team was the first to win all three regular season tournaments her senior year (2011-12). 
Other accomplishments: Mikaela ran track and played softball. She was All-State for track all four years and was a member of the 2010 State Track 4x800 Relay Team Champion. 

Why Westminster?
"I chose Westminster because I liked the small campus and how close to home it is. I just really felt like it was a good fit for me."
