WC Sophomore Ties for 19th In Missouri Amateur Stroke Play

Westminster College sophomore golfer Taylor Webb tied for 19th with a four-round score of 291 at the 2008 Missouri Amateur Stroke Play Championships. The event was held July 16-18 at Meadow Lake Acres Country Club in New Bloomfield, Missouri.
 
Webb, a sophomore from Jefferson City, Missouri (Jefferson City High School), earned second-team all-conference honors this past spring in his first year of collegiate golf competition.

Johnson And Webb All-Conference, Blue Jays Finish Fifth

Jacob Johnson earned first-team all-conference honors and Taylor Webb earned second-team all-conference recognition as the Westminster College men's golf team placed fifth at the 2008 St. Louis Intercollegiate Athletic Conference Golf Championships Monday and Tuesday at Governors Run Golf Club in Carlyle, Illinois.
 
Johnson, a sophomore from Ozark, Missouri (Ozark High School), tied for fourth individually at 240 to land a spot on the all-conference first team. Webb, a freshman from Jefferson City, Missouri (Jefferson City High School), tied for tenth individually at 248 to earn a spot on the all-conference second team. Other scorers for the Blue Jays were David Sund 260, Andy Komoroski 265 and Clayton Bentzen 299.
 
Westminster, which shot a three-round team score of 1011, finished fifth in the six-team field. Webster University won the team title at 965 followed by Maryville University 966, Blackburn College 973, Eureka College 1004, Westminster 1011 and Fontbonne University 1016.
