Volunteer Opportunities

RakingCommunity involvement at Westminster College is thriving! As a student, faculty or staff person at Westminster, you are able to partake in a variety of community service experiences, philanthropic activities or service-learning courses numerous times in a given year.

When seeking a volunteer experience, consider the following questions:

  • What/whom do you like to work with (for example, kids, senior citizens, animals, construction)?
  • What past volunteer experiences have you enjoyed and not enjoyed?
  • How much of a time commitment do you have to volunteer?
  • What do you hope to get out of your volunteer experience?

Contact the Community Engagement & Service-Learning Office for more information on community service, philanthropic activities and service-learning courses.

One Hour Weekly Service Projects

  • Tutoring & Mentoring Program: Give just one hour of your week to mentoring and tutoring kids at Bartley Elementary or McIntire Elementary. Commit at the beginning of each semester to provide one hour each week, and in return, gain the trust and friendship of someone that needs just a little bit of help.
  • Adopt A Grandparent Program: Give just one hour of your week to spending some time with a new friend at Presbyterian Manor Retirement Facility. Play Bingo, knit/crochet, read, watch movies, or just talk with someone that might not get a visitor each day.
