Assistant Professor of Biology and Health Professions Advisor

Job Summary:
Westminster College at Mesa (WC-Mesa), a four-year national liberal arts college, invites applications for a full-time, non-tenure track Assistant Professor position in the department of Biology, to begin August 2014.  The successful candidate will work in conjunction with the Biology Department on the Westminster-MO campus and the Director of Biology and Health Professions Programs to establish strong laboratory courses on the new campus.
Required Qualifications:
An earned Ph.D in an appropriate field is required.  Qualifications include a demonstrated commitment to undergraduate research, teaching and advising.  Other responsibilities include interacting with prospective students, management of biology laboratory and establishment of community relationships.
Preferred Qualifications:
Experience with teaching health science pre-requisite courses is preferred.
Job Description:
Teaching load (12 contact hours per semester) will typically include introductory courses for majors and non-majors and one or more of the following:  anatomy and physiology, evolution, histology, ecology, microbiology, genetics, cell biology and biochemistry.
