Josh Thompson joined the Westminster College athletic staff as head athletic trainer in August of 2005. In addition to his duties coordinating the athletic training needs of a 12-sport athletic program, Thompson is an instructor of physical education.
Thompson is a 2000 graduate of Westminster College, earning his undergraduate degrees in sports medicine/athletic training and education. In 2002, he completed his master's degree in education from the University of Cincinnati. Prior to coming to Westminster, Thompson served as the head athletic training at Hendrix College for three years. He received his National Athletic Trainers' Association (ATA) certification in 2002 and was named the Missouri ATA Athletic Trainer of the Year in 2009. He is certified to teach first aid/CPR by the American Red Cross.
Thompson is currently the Missouri ATA Governmental Affairs Chair and is on the State and Regional Planning Committee for the Department of Health's Sports Concussion Seminars.
