We are thrilled to serve as your Parents Association Presidents for the 2008-2009 school year.  As both Westminster parents and alums, Westminster College holds a special place in our lives.  Our daughter Katherine is a senior this year, we can't believe how quickly these years have passed.  By joining the Parents Association, you can stay connected to your student while giving them the space they need to grow. 
 
The Parents Association was formed in 2004 to provide families with a connection to the Westminster college community.  Today, the Westminster Parents Association and its governing body, the Parents Advisory Council (PAC) work together to:

• Provide financial support for student activities and organizations
• Address student health and safety concerns
• Communicate parent's concerns to the college administration
• Send timely information to parents about upcoming events and important deadlines through our monthly email newsletter
• Help the college faculty and staff promote academic excellence
• Welcome new families to campus by hosting new student orientation as well as the award-winning "cool-zone" where new parents are offered a warm handshake and a cool drink during their students move in weekend. 

In addition, the Parents Association sponsors the Pat Leibling Outstanding Faculty award selected by the Senior Class and presented at Graduation. 
 
This is an exciting time for your family to be a part Westminster as we start a new era under the leadership of President Barney Forsythe.  The college campus has never looked better with additions of two new residential facilities to join the year-old dining hall and recently expanded Coulter Science Center.  Westminster has a long history of academic excellence and will give your student every opportunity to succeed and become Leaders in a Global  Community.
