Endowing Faculty Excellence - Westminster College - Fulton, Missouri

Westminster's stature as an outstanding liberal arts institution rests upon a legacy of personal and inspiring teaching.  Academic giants such as Brooke Sloss, Bill Bleifuss, Bob McCreight, John Randolph, Warry Williams and Cameron Day prepared generations of students for lives of success, significance and service.

Endowed faculty positions draw their inspiration from the past but their goal is to dramatically influence the future. By endowing a faculty chair, professorship or fellowship, alumni and friends can make a permanent investment in extraordinary teaching for young people.

Endowed Faculty Chairs
Gift level: $2 million

Endowed faculty chairs are the hallmark of academic quality and a means to honor our most distinguished teachers.  Chairs are reserved for senior level professors who have developed a national reputation for teaching, mentoring, research and publications.

These endowments underwrite a professor's salary as well as related activities such as travel, student collaborative projects and course development.  Donors may designate their resources towards a particular discipline, provided the area of study is a College priority.

Endowed Senior Faculty Fellowships
Gift Level: $250,000

The advancement of knowledge is a central responsibility of the College.  Faculty fellowships provide release time from classroom responsibilities for senior faculty to write books and papers or to conduct important research in their academic fields.

An endowed fellowship may also provide temporary support for visiting scholars to participate in planned academic programs at Westminster.

Endowed Junior Faculty Fellowships
Gift Level: $125,000

An endowed junior faculty fellowship provides key resources to reward and encourage young professors.
Endowed funds could support innovative research, special projects, program development or even excellence in teaching awards.  Westminster has much to gain by nurturing exceptional minds early in their teaching careers.
