Class of 2011 Futures
Commencement is a time of celebration! A time to look back and rejoice in the memories made and lessons learned during one’s time on campus. And a time to look forward to the future and celebrate the successes that are to come. Westminster’s graduating Class of 2011 ends this chapter in their lives ready to embark on new adventures that are sure to both challenge and inspire them.
From prestigious graduate studies at Vanderbilt to serving in the Teach for America program, these members of the Class of 2011 are shining examples of how Westminster’s graduates leave campus with knowledge, skill and an eagerness to make their mark on the world.
Biology and Pre-Medicine Major
Will pursue a Doctorate of Medicine at the University Of Arkansas.
“My experience at Westminster College was more than I could have ever asked for as a freshman. I was able to get involved in nearly every facet of campus life and grow as an individual and leader. Academically, one of my most treasured experiences is working with Dr. April Potterfield in the Human Gross Anatomy program, an experience that not many undergraduate students have. I'm thankful for the grueling hours spent in the dissection lab which enriched in me a sense of hard work, dedication, and pride. Westminster has given me so much and I'm thankful to have been able to give back during my time here.”

Will pursue a Master’s in Curriculum and Instruction at the University of Missouri while participating in a Teaching Fellowship.

Is working for Sigma Aldrich as a Chemist in St. Louis. While at Westminster, he was a member of Tri Beta, a national biological honor society.
Will be teaching 6th Grade Language Arts this fall at Thomas Jefferson Middle School in Jefferson City, MO. While attending Westminster, she played on the Women’s Soccer team and did her student teaching at New Bloomfield Elementary.
Will be pursuing her Masters of Occupational Therapy at St. Louis University. The program is accredited by the Accreditation Council for Occupational Therapy Education (ACOTE).
Business Administration, concentrations in Management, Finance, and Entrepreneurship
Is participating in Wells Fargo Advisors’ ONTAP (Operations New-hire Training and Placement) Program in St. Louis, MO.
Political Science and International Studies
Will be teaching English in South Korea through the EPIK (English Program in Korea) program. The EPIK program offers teachers a unique experience to share their culture and knowledge with students while gaining experience teaching English in Public Schools across Korea.
Is working for Washington University in St. Louis as a Gene Sequencing Laboratory Technician. While attending Westminster, he was a member of Chi Alpha Sigma, the National College Athlete Honor Society. He was the first Blue Jay men's soccer player in school history to be named to the ESPN the Magazine Academic All-American Men's Soccer Team by the College Sports Information Directors of America (CoSIDA). He was also named a Westminster College athlete of the year.
is working as a Certified Proven Professional for EMC in Overland Park, KS. While attending Westminster, he played quarterback for the football team. He was a member of Delta Tau Delta and the Fellowship of Christian Athletes.
is working at Macy’s, Inc as the Executive Development Program Trainee/Sales Manager in St. Louis, MO. While attending Westminster, he was a member of Beta Theta Pi and played on the football team.
is the Employee Event Coordinator at Barnes-Jewish Hospital in St. Louis, MO. She was a member of Kappa Alpha Theta, Student Government Association (served as Senior Class President), Blue Blazers Investment Committee, Blue Crew-Pep Club, Student Judiciary Board, and Campus Activities Board. She also studied abroad at Winchester University in England for a semester.
Margaret (Maggie) Rowland
is employed by Archer Daniels Midland Company as a Laboratory Technician in Decatur, Illinois. While attending Westminster she majored in Biochemistry and was a member of Alpha Gamma Delta where she served as the Panhellenic Delegate for a year.
Cody BlountRobert Logan Ray
works at All Pro Water in the Sales Department in Chesterfield, Missouri. Cody was a member of Beta Theta Pi fraternity and a pitcher for the Westminster baseball team.
is employed as a Website Manager and Lab Technician at Cherry Hill Dental Associates in Columbia, Missouri. While attending Westminster he was involved in several activities including Delta Tau Delta fraternity, Alpha Lambda Delta (freshmen honor society), Student Government Association, Westminster Soccer, The Columns (college newspaper), Chamber Choir, The Westminster Singers, and Sublime Harmony, a select men’s a cappella group.
Wanlapa (Fon) Komkai
Economics and International Business
works for the US-ASEAN Business Council in Washington D.C. in Programs and Public Relations. While attending Westminster she was a member of Omicron Delta Kappa, the national leadership honor society, and the 2009 Bill Emerson fellow. She was also the first Westminster student to be selected to participate in the 5th annual “Campus Leaders Today, Community Leaders Tomorrow” program.
Wouter van den Boogaard
International Business Communications
is the new Head Coach for the Arnhem Falcons in the Netherlands. He is also currently working as an Office Manager for American Appliances BV. He was a member of Beta Theta Pi fraternity, as well as Westminster College’s Model UN team. Wouter was a dedicated member of the college’s football team, and has had the opportunity to participate in other football teams around the world..
