Ceremony Details

Alpha Chi Induction
Alpha Chi is the top academic honor society at Westminster College.  This society recognizes juniors who rank in the top 5% of their class and seniors who rank in the top 10% of their class.  New members are inducted into this honor society each year during a very special and personal ceremony during Commencement Weekend.  This ceremony will be held in the Church of St. Mary, Aldermanbury at 8:30am on Saturday, May 7.
The Baccalaureate Ceremony is a time of spiritual reflection for seniors and their families to recognize the ending of one life chapter and to celebrate the start of another.  The ceremony is a non-ticketed event and will be held at 10:30am on Saturday, May 7 in Champ Auditorium.  Graduates should report robed in caps and gowns in the Quadrangle by 10:10am.
The Commencement Ceremony includes an address by the Senior Class President, the presentation of degrees by President Barney Forsythe and Dean Carolyln Perry, the Outstanding Senior of the Year Award presented by the President of the Westminster Alumni Council, and the Outstanding Faculty Award presented by the Parents Association.

The Historic Columns Ceremony
Tradition holds that students are officially welcomed to the Westminster community when they walk through the columns on the day of their Freshmen Covocation Ceremony.  Students do not pass through the columns again until the day of their Commencement when they recess through the columns - away from Westminster and out into the world as new alumni to lead lives of success, significance and service.  The ceremony will take place at the Columns immediately following Commencement.
