Michael Kim '87
ESPN Anchor
Michael Kim, Class of ‘87, joined ESPNEWS with ESPN’s 24-hour sports news network as an anchor before its launch on November 1, 1996. He also is a regular contributor to ESPN’s SportsCenter.
Before becoming a member of ESPN’s team, Kim covered a variety of local sports for Springfield, Virginia’s NewsChannel8, which covers the Washington, D.C. area, and earned a local Emmy for a series called Local Heroes. He began his broadcasting career at KOMU-TV in 1990.
A native of Fulton, Kim also holds a Master of Arts degree in journalism from the University of Missouri. He and his wife Marlene live in East Haven, Connecticut, with their son Matthew.
