James A. Baker"This year the world truly came to Westminster. Experts and speakers from across the world came to our campus in the middle of Missouri, sharing their knowledge on globally relevant issues with us for two days. Students, faculty, and staff alike were genuinely excited about learning, and that's always extraordinary."

"This year's Symposium set new records for educational excellence; my thanks to everyone who organized and participated in the program. The session were informative, provocative , and inspirational. Combining the Symposium with the Green Lecture offered our community a double treat; it was an honor to host Secretary James Baker on our campus. I was so impressed with our students-they were well prepared and thoughtful in their questions and discussion. It is clear the Symposium is becoming part of Westminster's culture because it encapsulates our mission-developing leaders in a global community."
- President Barney Forsythe

"Personally, the Annual Symposium on Democracy is one of my favorite events of the year. The opportunity to interact with global leaders from every sector of society is a real plus as a Westminster student. My time at Westminster has been plagued with opportunities of unconventional learning; in and out the classroom and I believe that 'unconventional Learning is the best kind of Learning.' Westminster is doing a new thing in higher education!!!"

"I can't wait for next year's Symposium! I think we are truly bringing the world to Fulton each fall and capturing the spirit of Churchill as we build on our successes from symposium to symposium."
- Dr. Kurt Jefferson, Director for the Center for Engaging the World
