Melanie Barger of Jefferson City, MO, has assumed a new role as Director of the Office of Alumni Engagement & Event Management in the Institutional Advancement Department of Westminster College.
In her new position, Barger will oversee key aspects of the College's outreach programs to maximize engagement and support of alumni and college friends.
"I look forward to working to increase the scope of our alumni outreach and increasing the involvement level of our Westminster alumni," says Barger.
Her alumni engagement duties include planning events to keep alumni informed and involved; keeping alumni data up to date; and providing outlets for College contact with alumni through print, electronic and social media. She will also oversee the Alumni Council and Alumni Association and continue to serve as advisor to the Student Ambassadors.
Barger has worked at Westminster since 2001 as the Alumni & College Relations Coordinator, Institutional Advancement Web Coordinator, and the Assistant Director for Alumni Programming. Before coming to Westminster, she worked as a Family and Consumer Sciences Teacher at Moniteau County R-I.
Other changes in the office include the promotion of Kris Lensmeyer of Columbia, MO, formerly Executive Director of Alumni and College Relations, to the position of Executive Director of Marketing Management and Strategic Communication, and Gina Campagna, Class of 2009, promoted from Marketing Coordinator to Assistant Director of Advancement Services.
Lensmeyer has worked at Westminster since 1989, first as Dining Services Director and then as Director of Alumni Relations, before assuming her Executive Director role. Recently she served as Conference Chair for District VI of the Council for Advancement and Support of Education.
Campagna has spent the last eight months as Marketing Coordinator at the College, following one year as Alumni and College Relations Coordinator.
