MESA - Westminster College will hold a special "Welcome to Westminster" information session and lunch for prospective students and their parents on Saturday, April 27, from 10 a.m. to noon at 238 West 2nd Street in Mesa.
Representatives from the college will share information about Westminster's 161-year history, the college's focus on developing leaders in a global community, courses available for Fall 2013, internships, financial aid, and scholarships and grants available now for students.
The event will be held at Westminster College's Mesa office at 238 West 2nd Street, directly across from the new Mesa Center for Higher Education, currently under renovation. Beginning in July, when the overhaul is completed, Westminster will occupy and share the state-of-the-art space with Mesa higher education partner Wilkes University.
City of Mesa officials will attend the April 27th "Welcome to Westminster" event to answer questions about construction progress and the partnership between Westminster and the City.
In addition, parents and prospective students in attendance will learn about scholarships and grants available now, including the Mesa Consortium Grant - an annual $3,000 award for the first two entering classes of the Mesa campus, plus special support for International Baccalaureate students and Phi Theta Kappa students. Ninety-nine percent of students attending Westminster receive financial aid.
Westminster officials will also be on-hand to discuss the Fall 2013 course-calendar and early registration, student life, campus activities, clubs, organizations, and internships.
Complimentary lunch will be provided for those who attend the April 27 "Welcome to Westminster" event. Parents and students are encouraged to RSVP via email at firstname.lastname@example.org or via text, (480) 747-3863. Those who RSVP by Thursday, April 25 will receive a free Westminster t-shirt.
