From the college's summer improvement projects to new student move-in weekend and fall sports home openers --- the Westminster campus is full of life and schedules couldn't be busier with events and activities. The photos below tell the story of life on campus as the Westminster community kicks off another great semester --- the first 3 weeks in review.
A Successful Summer of Campus Changes
The Westminster Groves Townhouses are the newest residence halls on campus. The Groves opened their doors and welcomed their first residents in August. Seventy-two Westminster students now call these new townhouses home.

The Johnson College Inn (JCI) in Hunter Activity Center got a facelift over the summer months. New carpeting was installed, a half-wall was removed, the recreational pool table, ping pong tables, and lounge furniture was rearranged in order to provide optimal space for students to hang out and relax in their own student-union area.
Welcoming the Class of 2011 to the Westminster Family
395 new students arrived on campus at the end of August as brand new Blue Jays. This year marked Westminster's 10th straight year of record enrollment. New students participated in the ritual and tradition of the Columns Ceremony during move-in weekend to begin their new journey.

Jorden Sanders '14 served as a Freshman Respondent during the Columns Ceremony. During her address to her new classmates, Jorden said:
"As a baby sister in 2006, I stood deep in the crowd to watch two of my sisters walk through the columns as graduates. Two years later, in 2008, I realized that my 4 foot 11 inches could not stand at the back if I wanted to see my third sister, Jennifer, walk through the columns as a graduate. But today, it's my turn to take my place among the Westminster scholars."

Richard Holekamp '14 also served as a Freshman Respondent during the Columns Ceremony. During his speech, Richard spoke of the great potential of the men and women of the class of 2014:
"By graduation, we will have evolved into peerless men and women of the highest integrity and potential, ready to present ourselves as the individuals to lead the charge into the world to come."

Alumnus Mark Pfeiffer '89 returned to Westminster to deliver the Freshman Convocation address during the President's New Student Convocation. Mark currently serves as a Judge to the Missouri Court of Appeals, Western District. During his Convocation address, Mark said:

Student Activities Bring the Fun to Campus
The Annual Rock the Hill concert brought bands The Right Now and Hotspur to campus for a Welcome Back to Campus party, Westminster-style on the hill. The Campus Activities Board also provided snow cones, cotton candy, an obstacle course and a photo booth for an afternoon of fun for students, faculty and staff.
What would a Friday be at Westminster without a TGIF celebration? And the first TGIF of this new semester was unlike any other before it. The EXTREME TGIF featured a rock-wall climbing obstacle as well a euro-bungee trampoline activity.
Students, faculty and staff have been gathering for years as part of this Westminster TGIF tradition to celebrate the importance of building and maintaining a close-knit college community on the Westminster campus.
