5 Modern Day Records Broken At Culver-Stockton Meet

The Westminster Women’s Track & Field Team came in first place out of six teams and the Men’s team came in second place Saturday afternoon in Canton, Mo.

Sophomore Jared Patterson finished in first place in three events and broke the modern school record for the 800-meter run, finishing in 2:00.08. Devaughn Abrams replaced the 100-meter dash record with 11.30 and the 200-meter dash record, placing third with a time of 23.32. The men’s 4x100 team also broke the modern day school record, finishing in 44.74. The team consisted of EJ Berry, Rick Spinell, Narvell Smith and Devaughn Abrams.

Tanisha Terrell finished in second place in the 100-meter dash, replacing her previous modern day record with a 13.45 time. Sarah Ogar came in first in the 400-meter dash and second in the 800-meter run. Kaily Downey finished in first place in the 3000-meter run (11:41.02) and second in the 1500-meter run (5:19.95).

The Blue Jays will travel to St. Louis, Mo. Friday to compete in the Washington University Invitational.
