Fulton, Mo. – Westminster College could not generate enough offense to keep pace with Fontbonne University and dropped a pair of St. Louis Intercollegiate Athletic Conference (SLIAC) contests Tuesday.

The Blue Jays (15-20, 11-12 SLIAC) managed just four hits in dropping the opener 2-1. Two hits came in the first inning when sophomore Andy Pichler singled and scored on a two-out hit by sophomore Danton Hughes. Senior Brandon Zucker (1-3) was the hard-luck loser, allowing two runs on four hits.

Fontbonne (18-17, 15-5 SLIAC) jumped in front 6-0 and won the nightcap 9-2. Senior Nick Hoag went 2-for-4 and drove in a run, but he was the lone Blue Jay to record multiple hits. Sophomore Jordan Allen went 1-for-1 with a run scored, an RBI and three walks. Senior Gavin Magruder (0-1) took the loss, and freshman Tommy Bohnert and junior Jansyn Walsh pitched in relief.
