Baseball Drops to 18th Ranked Webster

The Westminster Blue Jays lost to number 18 ranked Webster University 6-1 at GCS in St. Louis, Missouri Thursday night.

The Blue Jays loaded the bases with one out in the first inning but could not capitalize.  They went on to score the first run of the game in the second inning on a RBI fielder’s choice by Cam Backes scoring Tyler Branneky

The Gorloks answered in the bottom of the third on a sacrifice fly by Lakey.  They would later score three more runs in the fourth inning including a two run homerun and then two more runs in the bottom of the sixth.
Nolan Lark (1-1) got the loss pitching four innings, allowing three earned runs.  The Blue Jays out hit the Gorloks 7 to 6, led by Deion and Danton Hughes with 2 hits apiece.

The Blue Jays play at Spalding University in Louisville, Ky. Saturday and Sunday.
