Blue Jay Freshman Sets 800-Meter Outdoor Record

Westminster College freshman Sarah Ogar broke the school record in the 800-meter run at Saturday's Dewey Allgood Invitational at Missouri S&T in Rolla. Ogar, a freshman from Mexico, Missouri (Mexico High School), placed fourth in the 800-meter race in a time of 2:23.72, bettering the school record of 2:25.70 set in 1986 by Pat Brandel.

Other Blue Jays placing in the rain-shortened meet were: freshman Sarah Koestner fifth in the 1500 and eighth in the 800; freshman Courtney Griswold sixth in the 100; sophomore Laci Luff sixth in the shot put; sophomore David Heilemann fourth in the 100; freshman Marcelo Giebink sixth in the 100; freshman Alex Russo sixth in the 400 hurdles; and sophomore Victor Stichnot fourth in the javelin.
