Blue Jays Move into Fourth Place After Duals

Friday night the Blue Jays won the battle against the Spalding Golden Eagles to move into fourth place in the conference. Westminster came back after losing the first game to win the next three games.
The game scores were 17-25, 25-12, 25-21, and 26-24.
Jordan Berry (Kirkwood, Mo. / Kirkwood) led the Blue Jays with nine kills and added 14 digs. Haley Roberts (Farmington, Mo. / Farmington) completed the match with three service aces, with Alex Berry (Kirkwood, Mo. / Kirkwood) contributed the other two aces. A. Berry also led the match with 17 digs. Lexi Collier (Weston, Mo. / West Platte) led both teams with four solo blocks and three block assists.
Saturday morning the Blue Jays hit the gym to compete against Eureka College. The Blue Jays won three games to zero: 25-15, 25-11, and 25-11.
The Blue Jays hit .225 as a team, having 80 total attack attempts. Collier led the match with 10 of the team’s 27 kills. Collier also led the match with four solo blocks. Four Westminster players had at least one service ace. Roberts had 18 assists and A. Berry led the match with 10 digs.
After resting all afternoon, the Blue Jays came back out on the floor to face Greenville College. The Blue Jays put up a good fight, but could not defeat the Panthers.
Westminster lost in three games: 22-25, 21-25, and 23-25.
The Blue Jays made 33 kills, with only 11 errors, out of the 110 total attempts. J. Berry led the game with 10 kills, and Elle Kelly led the game with 15 assists. A. Berry led the match with 19 digs.
The record moved Westminster into fourth place in the SLIAC with a record of 7-4, and 10-13 overall.
The Blue Jays head to Elsah, Ill. to battle Principia on Tuesday, Oct. 19th at 7:00 pm.
