Blue Jays Pound Fontbonne in Last Conference Match

The Westminster College Blue Jays defeated the Fontbonne University Griffins Tuesday night to end their conference play.

The game scores were 25-14, 25-9, and 25-12.

The Blue Jays got off to a slow start in game one, but quickly made their way back to the top.  Westminster ended the match with a .302 attack percentage, and had 34 kills in 3 games.

Andrea Kiser (Warsaw, Mo. /Warsaw) led the team with 11 kills, followed by Lexi Collier (Weston, Mo. /West Platte) with 8.  Four Blue Jays aced at least one serve, including Jordan Berry (Kirkwood, Mo. /Kirkwood) acing 4 serves.  J. Berry also led the team with 16 digs, followed by her sister, Alex Berry, with 15.  Collier and Caroline Abraham (Hermann, Mo. /Hermann) teamed together to assist 4 and 5 blocks, respectively. 

Tonight ends the conference play for the Blue Jays, but Westminster will be heading to the SLIAC Conference Tournament on November 3rd. 

The Blue Jays end their regular season play this Thursday when they host Avila University at 5:00 p.m. They will also be celebrating Senior Night for three seniors: Michelle Fandl, Alex Berry, and Molly Owens.
