Blue Jays Sweep MacMurray Triangular

The Westminster Blue Jays swept both teams in the MacMurray Triangular, moving them into fourth place in the conference, with a record of 4-3.  The Blue Jays are now 6-9 overall.

The Blue Jays competed first against Spalding in MacMurray’s Triangular Wednesday evening, beating Spalding in four games, 22-25, 25-19, 25-18, 25-21.

Andrea Kiser led the team with eight of the team’s 38 kills. The Blue Jays hit .153 as a team.  Haley Roberts played Libero throughout this Triangular, chipping in 25 digs.  Kiser also led the team with three solo blocks and two block assists.

Westminster went on to beat MacMurray in three games, 25-17, 25-9, 25-16.

The Blue Jays hit a .309 as a team against MacMurray. With 94 attempts, the Blue Jays made only seven errors.  Lexi Collier led the team with ten kills, followed closely behind by Malorie Smith with nine kills.  Roberts put in 27 of the 29 digs in the game.  Collier also led the team with three solo blocks and three block assists.

The Blue Jays travel to Washington University to start their weekend tournament Friday, October 6th.  The games begin for Westminster at 3:00 p.m. on Friday when they take on Central Iowa.
