First Westminster Book Signing at Bookstore to Be Held
Faculty & Staff
The first-ever book discussion and signing at the Westminster College Bookstore will be held from 11:30 a.m.-12:30 p.m., Thursday, April 12, to promote Professor Cliff Cain’s new work, Many Heavens, One Earth.
Professor Cain will hold the book discussion first followed by a signing session.
“I want to stress that although we will have books on hand for me to sign, the point of this event first and foremost is to bring out friends and those interested in this topic so I can share the ideas which the book contains,” says Professor Cain. “No one in attendance should feel obligated to purchase a copy unless they want to do so.”
Many Heavens, One Earth examines what a “crucial and transforming influence” nine of the world’s great religions can have on how people respect the environment.
Professor Cain says although he edited the book primarily for a general reading audience, scholars should find it useful as well.
“The essays in this much-needed and well-edited anthology provide up-to-date reflection on religious themes and teachings that can help us think about the proper place of humans in earth’s ecosystems,” says Marti J. Steussy of the Christian Theological Seminary in Indianapolis, IN. “Clifford Chalmers Cain has done a great service for religious scholarship and the world in assembling this collection of readings.”
Published by Lexington Books, copies may be purchased at the Westminster Bookstore for $60.
The volume will also be used in Professor Cain’s fall class, Spiritual Ecology.
