Men’s and Women’s Cross Country Lock In 2nd At Eagle Invitational

The Westminster Cross Country teams opened their season at the Central Methodist University Eagle Invitational Saturday morning in Fayette, Mo. The Blue Jays men finished the 5K in second place out of three teams, with a point total of 37 and an 18:09.06 average time. The Blue Jays women finished the 380 meter run in second place out of three teams, with a point total of 42 and an average time of 15:18.46.
The Blue Jays had four finish in the top ten out of 29 competitors. Junior Daniel Lindaman
(Columbia, Mo. /Hickman) finished third in the 5K run with a time of 17:10.46. Crossing just seconds behind him was sophomore Jesse Edwards
(Rogersville, Mo. /Logan Rogersville), finishing in fourth with a 17:8.11 time. Senior Matt Borst
(Flower Mound, Texas /Marcus) and junior Will Megl
(Troy, Mo. /Elsberry) finished in eighth and ninth place, respectively.
The Lady Blue Jays had three finish in the top ten out of 24 competitors. Senior Sarah Koestner
(Lohman, Mo. /Russellville) placed third with a 14:30.49 time. The Blue Jays locked in ninth, tenth and eleventh place by senior Sarah Ogar
(Mexico, Mo. /Mexico), freshman Lily Willis
(Jefferson City, Mo. /Jefferson City) and junior Tiara Pettijohn
(Bethany, Mo. /South Harrison), respectively.
The Blue Jays will head to Bolivar, Mo. next Friday, September 6, to compete in the Southwest Baptist University Twilight Meet at 6:00 p.m.
