Cross Country Teams Secured 3rd at SBU Bearcat Twilight

The Westminster Cross Country teams both finished in third in the Southwest Baptist University Bearcat Twilight meet on Friday evening. Seven teams competed in the 5K meet for both the men and women. The men’s team collected 95 points with a 17:33.94 average time. The women’s team collected 88 points with a 21:47.93 average time.

Junior Daniel Lindaman crossed the finish line first for the Blue Jays, taking 12th place with a 16:44.73 time. Crossing directly after Lindaman was Jesse Edwards (13th, 16:49.23). Following Edwards were: Matt Borst (21st, 17:20.54), Will Megl (29th, 17:54.58), Connor Greene (43rd, 19:00.60), Ryan Dyer (48th, 19:17.01), Nathan Fox (49th, 19:27.67), Jake Burch (58th, 20:26.97), Spencer Woodford (68th, 22:47.20) and Trevor Ford (69th, 22:47.20).

The Lady Blue Jays had three runners finish in the top 20. Sarah Koestner, Sarah Ogar and Lily Willis finished in 11th, 12th and 18th place, respectively.  Following Willis was: Tiara Pettijohn (29th, 22:43.71), Claire Gibby (32nd, 22:56.16) and Danielle Smulczenski (38th, 23:43.37).

The Blue Jays will return to action on Saturday, September 14th when they travel to Warrensburg, Missouri to compete in the Central Missouri Mule Run.
