Downey Breaks School Record At Washington University Invitational

Kaily Downey broke the Westminster 5,000-meter run school record, placing 17th with a time of 18:36.48 at the Washington University Invitational Friday and Saturday. Five other modern day records were broken also.

Jared Patterson replaced his previous record in the 1,500-meter run, finishing in 4:05.28. The 400-meter relay team shaved .03 seconds off the previously held record, placing 21st with a 44.67 time. The team consisted of DeVaughn Abram, EJ Berry, Sam Lantz and Tony Mitchell. Abram replaced his previously held 100-meter dash record, finishing in 11.26 and, Tanisha Terrell replaced her previously held 100-meter dash record with a 13:20 time after placing in 20th. Daniel Lindaman demolished the 5000-meter run record, taking over 20 seconds off and replacing it with a 15:57.61 time.

The Blue Jays head to Fayette, Mo. April 6 to compete in the Central Methodist Invitational.
