Four Westminster Softball Players Recognized

Fulton, Mo. – Four members of the Westminster College softball squad have received all-conference recognition as voted on by the St. Louis Intercollegiate Athletic Conference coaches.

Sophomore Brittany Lee (Chesterfield, Mo./Marquette) was named to the all-conference second team as a utility player. Lee batted .295 and led the team with 11 doubles, and on the mound Lee went 7-9 and led the team with a 3.26 ERA and 110 strike outs.

Juniors Kenna Cornelson (Oklahoma City, Okla./Casady) and Talisha Washington (Fulton, Mo./Fulton) received honorable mention honors. Cornelson batted .320 in ten games after joining the team late in the season and Washington batted .302 in 24 games.

Freshman Emily Kesel (Bonnots Mill, Mo./Fatima) was a double award winner. Kesel earned honorable mention accolades and landed a spot on the all-sportsmanship team. Kesel batted .247 in 32 games and led the team with 49 assists playing third base.

Westminster finished the season 14-18 overall and went 8-8  to tie for 5th in the league standings. The 14 wins are the most in 15 years since the 1997 team finished 15-16.
