Westminster College freshman Sarah Koestner set an indoor school record in the 800-meter run at the University of Central Missouri Classic this past Friday in Warrensburg.

Koestner (Lohman, Mo./Russellville) finished fourth in a time of 2:27.39 in the 800-meter run to better the previous record of 2:27.9 set in 1986. Freshman Sarah Ogar (Mexico, Mo./Mexico) took eighth in the 800-meter race in 2:30.73.

Koestner took fourth in the one-mile run in 5:36.68, and sophomore Kaily Downey (Kirkwood, Mo./Kirkwood) finished ninth in 5:51.75.

Blue Jay Track & Field Notes: This was the final indoor competition for the Blue Jays…The first outdoor meet for the Westminster teams is the Central Methodist Open on March 19.
