Golf Places 5th At SLIAC Men's Golf Championship

The Westminster Men’s Golf team placed fifth at the St. Louis Intercollegiate Athletic Conference (SLIAC) Men’s Golf Championship Friday and Saturday. The Championship was held at the Forest Park Golf Club in St. Louis, Mo. The Blue Jays finished with a three-round total of 1072 (348-359-365).

Freshman Blake Stonecipher finished first for the Blue Jays with a score of 80-82-93—255. Jake Yarnell followed Stonecipher, placing 24th with a score of 87-91-84—262. John Davis (93-92-92--277), Eric Strange (88-94-98--280), and Hogan Davis (94-98-96--288) rounded out the Blue Jays’ team.

Blake Stonecipher was awarded the Sportsmanship Award. The person awarded is an individual selected by his teammates and coach that best displays the ideals of sportsmanship.
