A Message from President Forsythe
Alumni & Friends News
Dear Members of the Westminster Community,
It is with deep sadness that I inform you that one of the most treasured members of our Westminster family, Jack Marshall, passed away Sunday afternoon, November 20, at Presbyterian Manor in Fulton.
The sense of loss to our College and to all of us who knew, admired, and loved Jack is immeasurable. We mourn the passing of a man who devoted his life to Westminster and the noble principles that guide our institution, but at the same time, we give thanks for a life well lived.
Jack Marshall truly exemplified the Westminster mission; his life of success, significance, and service inspires us all. No words can effectively convey the tremendous impact Jack has had on the growth and success of Westminster during his forty-year career and his nearly lifelong dedication to our College. His long and distinguished career at Westminster included service as Alumni Secretary and Director of Publicity, Dean of Men, Dean of Admissions, Assistant to the President, Director and Vice President for Development, Secretary of the Board of Trustees, and Interim President. He was also a member of the Board of Governors of the Churchill Memorial. In each and every position, Jack inspired everyone he met through his leadership, friendship, and guidance.
Jack was honored by Westminster with an Honorary Doctorate, the Alumni Award for Merit, and the Alumni Achievement Award.
You can be certain that as long as there is a Westminster, the life and achievements of Jack Marshall will not be forgotten, and he will live on in the hearts and minds of all of us who were blessed to know him as we try to live up to the high standards he has set for us. The only words that seem appropriate to mark Jack’s passing are: “Well done, good and faithful servant.”
Please keep Jack’s family in your thoughts and prayers in the days ahead, and watch for a future announcement of plans for a memorial service at the Church of St. Mary the Virgin, Aldermanbury.
Expressions of condolences may be sent to:

The family wishes that contributions be made to Jack’s scholarship fund in lieu of flowers.
The College will be creating a special memory webpage for Jack. If you have anything you would like to share (stories, photos, thoughts), please send to firstname.lastname@example.org.
