Record Numbers Attend Churchill Weekend and Kemper Lecture

National Churchill Museum

The annual Churchill Weekend culminated in Professor Peter Clarke, from Cambridge in the UK, lecturing on Winston Churchill as Author to a crowd of 375 people in the Church of St Mary.  He began his lecture with a proposed spoof of Downton Abbey where a cast would act out the events of Winston Churchill’s parents’ life and then finally his own life.  This set the stage for an engaging lecture on Winston Churchill’s true profession as an author.  Eight were inducted as Churchill Fellows, one of which was Dr. Monroe Trout who was a Delta Tau Delta.  Westminster College Delta’s showed their support for Dr Trout by attending the lunch and lecture.
The traditional Lunch before the lecture was attended by a record of nearly 200 people.  Here, Professor Clarke answered questions regarding Winston Churchill.  All and all, Churchill Weekend and the Kemper lecture were a great success with record attendance.  Thanks to all who participated.
