Lady Blue Jays Fall To Spalding, Will Face Eureka Next In SLIAC Tournament

The Westminster Softball team lost 0-2 to Spalding University in the first round of the St. Louis Intercollegiate Athletic Conference (SLIAC) Tournament Thursday afternoon.

The Spalding Golden Eagles scored the first run in the top of the third off a passed ball, and scored again in the fourth to give them the 2-0 lead. The Blue Jays were unable to score and were held to only one hit by sophomore Emily Kesel. Junior Brittany Lee was credited with the loss. She pitched seven innings and struck out seven.

The Blue Jays were scheduled to play Eureka College at 8:00 p.m., but the game was rained out. The Blue Jays will find out Friday morning if they will play Eureka College Friday at 4:00 p.m. or on Saturday.
