Lady Blue Jays Leave Chicago Road Trip Disappointed

The Lady Blue Jays left the 2012 Millikin University Harriett Crannell Holiday Classic in Chicago after falling to Wisconsin Lutheran and Millikin over the weekend. The Blue Jays went against Wisconsin Lutheran Saturday afternoon and lost 46-64. They then took on Millikin Sunday afternoon and fell 61-72.
The lead jumped back and forth between the Blue Jays and the Wisconsin Lutheran Warriors, and the Blue Jays went into halftime up by one point, 29-28. A foul with 16:39 left in the game gave the Warriors the lead for the last time. The Warriors then went on a 9-0 run, and the Blue Jays were never able to catch up.
Hannah Kloster led the Blue Jays with 10 points, and Talisha Washington chipped in 7 points. Laci Luff grabbed eight defensive rebounds, and Kenna Cornelson pulled four rebounds and dished four assists.
The Blue Jays held a low score against the Millikin for the first six minutes of the game. The Big Blue of Millikin University then pulled ahead and the Blue Jays were down 17-35 going into halftime. The Blue Jays came within 12 points with 15:31 left in the game, but the Big Blue pulled ahead. The Blue Jays attempted to come back, and Leigh Ann Lutz drilled two three pointers and hit two free throws with a minute remaining in the game. The Blue Jays resorted to fouling to stop the time, but the Big Blue went 7 -10 on free throws in the last minutes of the game.
Kloster led the game with 17 points, followed by Lutz with 16 points. Luff led the team with 8 rebounds.
Hannah Kloster and Laci Luff were named to the 2012 Millikin University Harriett Crannell Holiday Classic All-Tournament Team.
The Blue Jays head to Elmhurst, Illinois on December 14th to take on the Blue Jays of Elmhurst College at 6:00 p.m.
