Letourneau Steals A Spot In The Record Book

Fulton, Mo. - The Westminster College women’s basketball squad has been forcing turnovers at such a high rate that it has been hard to track steals. And, that is a disservice to senior Heather Letourneau.
Letourneau, a four-year member of the Blue Jay squad from Smithton, Missouri (Smithton), holds the single-game individual school record for steals with nine and she is now the individual career leader with 218 steals. Ironically, she has 61 thefts to her credit this season and is just seven shy of equaling the single-season mark.
Westminster leads the St. Louis Intercollegiate Athletic Conference in steals a game and was 14th nationally among NCAA Division III schools through last Sunday’s contests. And not surprisingly, Letourneau is tops in the conference at 3.6 steals a game, followed closely by her teammate and fellow senior Rachel Backes (Tipton, Mo./Tipton) at 2.8 steals a game.
