Sharon Mather is excited about her ability to reach out to Westminster alumni in her new position as Director of Alumni Engagement & Event Management at Westminster College in Fulton, MO.
“I achieve great personal satisfaction helping others connect or reconnect with their alma mater,” says Mather. “And I have been impressed with Westminster College for as long as I have been in higher education. I am thrilled to join the advancement team and look forward to meeting alumni and friends of the College.”
Mather was first impressed with the College when she was working at another college within the same athletic conference as Westminster and completed a project comparing sports programs.
Born and reared in Jacksonville, IL, Mather worked as Alumni Director at MacMurray College for over three years. During her first year, she increased alumni events by 300 percent.
In 2007 she accepted a position as Assistant Director of the Western Region Education Center at Lincoln Land Community College and worked there for nine months until the family moved when her husband Gary was hired as manager of Tractor Supply Company in Fulton.
Once the family moved to Fulton, Mather held the position of Annual Fund Coordinator at William Woods University for four and one-half years before coming to Westminster.
Mather has three sons: C.J., a Warrant Officer and Chinook helicopter pilot in the U.S. Army; Jason, an interpreter for the deaf and hard of hearing; and Justin, who works in maintenance for the Morgan County Housing Authority.
“Westminster College has consistently been recognized as one of the top liberal arts colleges in the nation and it is my honor to join the Westminster team,” says Mather.
