Pair Of Blue Jays Win At Principia Relays

Elsah, Ill. – Sophomore Sarah Koestner (Lohman, Mo./Russellville) captured the women’s mile run in a school record 5:36.66 and freshman Daniel Lindeman (Columbia, Mo./Hickman) won the men’s 3000-meter run in a modern best 9:32.43 to highlight the Westminster College performances at the January 27 Principia College Relays.

Sophomore Sarah Ogar (Mexico, Mo./Mexico) took second in the 500-meter dash (1:25.88), junior Kaily Downey (Kirkwood, Mo./Kirkwood) took second in the women’s mile (5:46.57), the women’s distance medley relay of Downey, Ogar, Courtney Griswold (Unionville, Mo./Putnam Co.) and Koestner took second (13:41.22), sophomore Matt Borst (Flower Mound, Tex./Marcus) took second in the men’s mile in a modern best 4:38.24 with Jared Patterson (Salem, Mo./Salem) third (4:46.53), and the men’s distance medley relay team, composed of Patterson, freshman Eric Boeckman (Westphalia, Mo./Fatima), junior Mylhan Myers (Rolla, Mo./Rolla) and Borst, finished third in a modern best 11:12.86.
