Six Modern-Day Records Snapped at Missouri Collegiate Challenge

Columbia, Mo. – The Westminster College track and field teams bettered six modern-day records at Friday’s Missouri Collegiate Challenge.

The Blue Jay women bettered two modern-day records. Sophomore Terrell bettered the 200-meter dash record, shaving a second off with an 18th place finish time of 28:20. Junior Sarah Ogar bettered her own 400-meter dash record with an eighth-place finish of 1:02.33.

The Blue Jay men bettered four modern-day records, with junior Tony Mitchell breaking his previous triple jump record, pushing it to 12.18 meters with his ninth-place finish. Sophomore Daniel Lindaman shattered his previous 3000-meter record, taking eight seconds off with his 9:20.24 finish. Freshman Devaughn Abram bettered the 200-meter dash record (23:87) and freshman Steven Heim replaced the 600-meter run record (2:06.53).
