Strong Second Half Brings A Blue Jay Win Home

The Westminster Blue Jays pulled ahead in the second half against the Fontbonne Griffins late Wednesday evening, bringing home the 65-55 win.
The Blue Jays took the first lead of the game, but with 14:18 left in the first half, the Griffins took the lead, 8-5. A three pointer by

Mookie Valandra tied the game with 7:12 on the clock, but the Blue Jays could not grab the lead. The Blue Jays headed into the second half down 22-24.
The Blue Jays came into the second, grabbed the lead just 25 seconds in, and went on a 10-0 run. A layup by

Joe James brought the Blue Jays’ lead to 13 points with 7:37 left in the game (47-34). The Blue Jays kept the lead, and won 65-55.
The Blue Jays shot 40% from the field.
Verdis Lee led the game with 14 points and dished 9 assists.
Taylor Allen led the Blue Jays with 13 rebounds and chipped in 8 points. James put up 12 points and went 8-10 on free throws.
The Blue Jays’ win brought their SLIAC record to 2-0 and their overall record to 9-2.
