Ten Blue Jays Place at KU Jayhawk Classic

The Westminster College Track & Field team competed in the Kansas University Jayhawk Classic Friday morning in Lawrence, Kansas.
In the 3000-meter run, three Blue Jays placed. Jesse Edwards (Rogersville, Mo. /Logan Rogersville) finished 34th with a time of 9:37.79. Finishing in 35th place was Daniel Lindaman (Columbia, Mo. /Hickman) in 9:43. Will Megl (Troy, Mo. /Elsberrry) finished in 9:50.69, placing 37th.
Sarah Ogar (Mexico, Mo. /Mexico) placed 16th in the 800-meter run in 2:38.14.
Steven Heim (O’Fallon, Mo. /Fort Zumwalt West) placed 16th in the 1000-meter run (2:48.02) and Jared Patterson (Salem, Mo. /Salem) finished in 5th place in the finals with a time of 2:39.27.
In the 1 mile run, Matt Borst (Flower Mound, Texas /Marcus) crossed the line in 4:45.37 (34th place).
Three Blue Jays placed in the 60-meter dash. Rick Spinell (Phoenix, Ariz. /North Canyon) and Tony Mitchell (Naples, Fla. /Golden Gate) placed 67th and 75th, respectively. Spinell finished in 7.4 seconds and Mitchell crossed the line in 7.84 seconds. Manyima Njie (Temma, Bokateh /UWC) placed 51st with a time of 8.71 seconds.
The Blue Jays head to Jacksonville, Illinois to compete in the Illinois College Jim Green Invitational on February 2nd.
