Volleyball Falls at Webster Duals

The Westminster Blue Jays lost both matches Saturday afternoon at the Webster Duals. This brings the Blue Jay’s record to 1-7, and 0-3 in the SLIAC.

Westminster battled hard against Principia College, leaving every game within four points.  Principia won the first two games, 25-22 and 27-25. The next two games Westminster battled and won (25-23, 25-23) but the Blue Jays could not pull out a win in game five.  Alexis Collier and Alex Berry led the team in kills with fifteen apiece.  A. Berry also stepped up in the defensive roll, having twenty-seven digs, while Jordan Berry contributed thirty-six digs. 

The second set of the day was against the Webster University Gorlocks.  Westminster could not find their rhythm in the games, leaving them 0-3 (14-25, 20-25, 19-25).  The Blue Jays ended the match with twenty-six kills and seventy-five digs.

The Westminster Blue Jays head to Jacksonville, Illinois to play Illinois College on September 25th at 7:00pm.
