The eighth annual Watercolor Missouri Annual Open Exhibition will be on display April 9-May 11 at the Winston Churchill Memorial and Library in the United States, located on the Westminster College campus in Fulton, MO. “Visitors will experience 81 water media paintings by nationally known professional artists from across the United States,” says George “Papa” Tutt, Executive Director of the Missouri Water Color Society.
Tutt, a Westminster alumnus from the class of ’57, became Chairman of the Art Department and Head of the Division of Fine Arts for the Cooperative Program between Westminster College and William Woods University. Tutt is responsible for bringing this prestigious national exhibition to the campus of his alma mater.
This year’s exhibition is juried by nationally known artists, Bill James of Ocala, FL and Edwin L. Johnson, Kansas City, MO. James selected the exhibition of 81 paintings from a field of 434 entries. Johnson will select the award winners, which will be announced at a reception April 6.
Watercolor Missouri National was selected by the national magazine, Watercolor Artist, as one of the top 25 society exhibitions in the USA this year for the seventh time.
The Churchill Memorial is open from 10 a.m.-4:30 p.m. daily. Admission is Adults: $6.00; Seniors AAA, AARP: $5.00; Youth (12-18): $4.00; College Students: $4.00; Child (6-11): $3.00; and Child (5 and under): free.
